Needing a winter coat on your trip to Venice means less stress and crowds

Today’s New York Times article recommends visiting Venice in the winter and we agree.  We’ve been in January and February and yes it’s cold but there aren’t many other tourists and you can get to know the city in a way that is impossible under the heat of summer.
